PayPal Accidentally Credits Man $92 Quadrillion

Popular online money transfer website “PayPal” recently admitted to one of their biggest mistakes yet. On July 2013 PayPal  credited an American man $92 quadrillion, for a very short period of time. Economists reckon that this gigantic amount of money is almost a thousand times greater than the combined GDP of the entire world.

However the online money transfer firm quickly realized their grave error and promptly took corrective measures by withdrawing the exorbitant amount from the users account balance. It seems that Chris Reynolds of Pennsylvania inadvertently became the center of media attention due to the error committed by Pay Pal which for a fleeting moment transformed him into the world’s richest man on paper.  It seems that till date Reynolds is the only man on Earth who enjoyed the brief distinction of being considered a quadrillionaire.

According to media reports Reynolds’ his bank balance would have easily surpassed the wealth of Mexican telecom honcho Carlos Slim, who is presently ranked as the world’s richest man with an estimated net worth of $67 billion and counting! Unsurprisingly, the bizarre turn of events completely befuddled Reynolds. In a statement issued to the press Reynolds claimed that when he first saw the amount in his PayPal account he believed that he had run into some kind of debt and had to pay the entire money to someone. But once realization dawned that he himself was the owner of the gargantuan sum of money he just could not believe his luck. Consequently he was in a state of shock for quite some time. Chris also claimed that since he is a responsible American citizen, one of his first acts after receiving the whopping amount of money would have been to pay off the entire US national debt at the earliest possible instant. As a goodwill gesture, PayPal offered to make a donation to any charity supported by Reynolds after they withdrew the astronomical amount from Reynolds’ account.
