Tunisian actress Hend Sabry considers landing the lead role in the Egyptian film 'Asmaa' a milestone in her career.
In a statement to 'Al Ittihad' newspaper, she says this film is a turning point in her career, adding that she is now seeking original and unique roles.
The film is controversial for its daring plot which tackles the issue of Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS). Sabry says she accepted the role gladly.
She adds that the film is about a girl named Asmaa who's in love with a young man, but the relationship is tragic in its nature.
She stated that Egyptian director and screenwriter Amr Salama began working on the project in 2009, and has been refining it ever since.
Filming was delayed as Sabry was busy in 2010 with the series 'Ayza Atgawez' (I Want to Get Married) which was ready for filming and was completed quickly by Salama in 2010.
The film 'Asmaa' star many actors and actresses, including Maged El Kedwany, Hany Adel and Ahmed Kamal, but has yet to be given a release date...YC/ATC-TCL.com
