Heir & Make-Up

Heir & Make-Up

So Kate has been named third most beautiful royal woman in a poll this week. Not sure how I’d feel about coming third but with Grace Kelly and Queen Rania of Jordan in first and second am sure Miss Middleton won’t be complaining – especially as she beat former top UK royal beauty, Diana, into fourth place…

I agree and think Kate is a real beauty, very attractive, not artificially so and with an amazing smile. But like all women she has an off day now and again and so for the rest of us who didn’t place on a poll of ‘most beautiful woman’ anywhere here’s a not so flattering pic of La Middleton.

Her crowning glory is a bit of a windswept birdsnest here which is why I like the unfortunate photo so much, she is so well known for her glossy tonged locks that a bad heir day is a welcome slip up (I say welcome on behalf of every bedheaded lady out there today like me). But it seems we’ve been taking a lot of notice of Kate’s hair, apparently sales of gloss enhancing products have leapt up by 27% since the engagement was announced.

It has been reported in the Daily Mail that Kate will have an incredible ‘team of up to six hair-dressers’ from the Richard Ward salon for the big day, (who will also be styling her mum and sister that morning) and that Kate’s locks will be down and flowing. So definitely making the most of her trademark.  Maybe swishy, shiny hair really can bag you a fairytale prince, you just don’t need it to be long enough to reach the ground from the top of your tower these days.

If you’re after getting some sleek locks yourself then Sassoon Electricals’ limited edition Union Jack Straightener will do the job, surely one of Kate’s stylists should pull a pair of these out of their bag next Friday morning for a bit of a laugh?

I’ve heard rumours that Kate will be doing her own make-up but I am sure this won’t be the case. Someone needs to advise her against her traditional thick crayon-like eyeliner which I think ages her and closes her eyes up, we’ll be wanting to see those green peepers wide open on the big day won’t we?

For a bit more royal related beauty check out these cute cherry Union Jack Brit Balms, surely perfect little street party gifts for girls of all ages?

And for something rather more regal and stately you could try the historic fragrance Betrothal, originally created to mark the engagement of William’s great, great, grandmother Mary to King George V and recently revived by Grossmith (one of England’s oldest perfume houses). No one is able to purchase or wear this heritage scent until after the royal wedding day though, what if Kate herself chooses to wear it?
