Notes to my future husband: The Sequel

Notes to my future husband: The Sequel

By: May Rostom

Hey stranger,
It’s been a while since we last talked; it’s kind of hard talking to someone you haven’t met yet. Now would’ve been a good time for you to show up, July has been full of ups and downs and I would’ve enjoyed that rollercoaster ride with you. As I think about the little things I do that might piss you off, I fall in love with my weirdness a little bit more. Just to keep you in the know, here are a few:

1. My wardrobe is fine, I like my clothes hence bought them. When you think my dresses are too short, remember they could’ve been way shorter.

2. Shoes, non-negotiable. You can never have enough, they can never be “too pricey”, and they are my best friends. When in doubt, refer to the famous Cinderella story, her shoes got her a prince!

3. I'm a girl; music is all about the lyrics to me. Any good tune with the words, love, heart, soul, and life will probably be on my iPod. I appreciate Metallica, Linkin Park, Creed, and Seether the way you appreciate Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Justin Bieber, and Selena Gomez.

4. I’m in love; I’ve been in love with myself for quite some time now. Myself has been there for me through thick and thin so please promise when you meet Myself, you’ll take REALLY good care of her.

5. Here’s something that might strike you as odd. I'm May, a woman who DOESN’T like to cook. I'm sorry; I just don’t understand why I should go through the agony of cooking a meal that would take around 4 hours to prepare to be eventually chugged down in 10 minutes. It sucks, I know, and I AM going to cook for you, just don’t expect me to be happy doing so.

6. I was once a child. I still am a child somehow. So when I tell a silly story or act funny, please laugh!

7. I sleep like a little baby at night. I don’t snore so please turn down the volume on that tractor noise I expect you to make every night in your sleep.

8. I like to pamper myself, so expect some pampering for you too. Facials, manicures, massages, everything. NOTE: it might leave you feeling a bit feminine but it’s good for you I promise!

9. I appreciate privacy. I won’t ask you for your email or Facebook passwords. I won’t snoop around because I trust you. Please return the favor.

10. I’ve been working on my relationship with God, promise you won’t come in between us. Please push me closer to God, and let’s work on this together.

Ok, so if you're writing me a letter too now, don’t forget to write the date down there, I’d like to read this one day..
