Will the Royal Wedding break the Records?

Will the Royal Wedding break the Records

By: May Rostom

The most anticipated wedding in 2011 is approaching. With less than 3 weeks to go, the preparations are finally coming together.

A lot of weddings have broken world records whether it was the most expensive cake, the world’s longest veil, or the most extravagant wedding dress, but we can’t help but wonder what record William and Kate’s wedding will break?! We’re guessing the most viewed wedding on TV. That record was originally broken by Prince Charles and Princess Diana’s wedding in 1981, where a total of 750 million viewers in 74 countries watched them tie the knot.

Prince William and Kate Middleton are expected to attract a whopping 2 billion viewers therefore crushing that record. It doesn’t stop there; we’re also guessing Khloe Kardashian and Lamar Odom will fall into second place for being the most searched for celebrity wedding online. Khloe and Lamar currently hold the number one position but not for long.

What about the cake? Luxury baker, Fiona Cairns will be crafting the multi-tiered fruit cake. Nothing has yet been revealed about size, number of layers, or weight. But for Fiona to break the record of the world’s largest cake, she should bake one that weighs more than 15,032 pounds, feeds more than 60,000 people, has 10,000 pounds of cake batter, 4,810 pounds of frosting, and takes two forklifts to lift up each tier.

Lastly, the wedding dress, Alexander McQueen creative director, Sarah Burton is the wedding dress designer (according to British newspapers). Sarah denied that she took the job, and CEO of McQueen’s fashion house also issued denials, but maybe they're just obliged to do so like when the designers of Princess Diana’s wedding gown repeatedly denied being royal couturiers.

Although nothing is circulating about the wedding dress yet but we’re sure it would be a masterpiece, trendsetting gown. What record will they break? Let’s hope the longest married couple!
