Are you a shoeaholic? Well it could all be down to your mum.
A study by Debenhams revealed that woman's balance, poise and choice of shoe is hereditary.
The study into consumer trends found that 92% of those taking part that were related gave matching answers when asked about their perfect choice of shoe from the colour to the style.
It also appears that your ability to strut you stuff in skyscraper heels is also down to your mum. The study conducted a walk test and found that 87% of mums that strode confidently across a room in various heel heights also had daughters who could do the same. While those that had trouble walking in heels passed on the same problem to their offspring.
Natelle Baddeley, head of accessories design at Debenhams, said: "Whether it's genetics or training in teenage years, we may never know, but it's clear that the saying "like mother like daughter" applies to walking in heels."
She added "'the correlation was striking. We could almost pick out who was mother and daughter in a crowd just by the similarities as they walked in high heels."
