It’s been 3 years since Donatella Versace broke the news to her fans in New York that she wouldn’t be doing a diffusion line for H&M, as it “would confuse the brand”.

Three years later today, the Swedish cheap’n’chic fashion brand announced that the luxurious Italian fashion label would be their next guest designer in a statement released by Margareta van den Bosch (H&M creative advisor), saying "Versace is one of the most important brands of recent times, and their collection for H&M will be glamorous and flamboyant - everything Versace stands for.

Donatella Versace is sharing with us iconic designs from the archives. This is such a celebratory collaboration and it is perfect for the party season, “The autumn 2011 designer collaboration will hit 300 stores worldwide in November and "will look back on the heritage of the brand, full of leather, print, color and exuberance in exclusive materials," H&M said.

Donatella Versace (the company’s creative director) says “I am thrilled to be collaborating with H&M and to have the opportunity of reaching their wide audience. The collection will be quintessential Versace, perfect for H&M and Versace fans everywhere”. The line will be featuring a collection for men, women, and home pieces all at affordable, fantastic H&M prices.

Other luxury brands and designers collaborated with H&M before like Lanvin, Karl Lagerfeld, Stella McCartney, Viktor and Rolf, Jimmy Choo, and a lot more, selling out in a matter of minutes. Tell us what you think, would you buy an H&M- Versace piece as soon as it hits the shelves?
