Carrie Underwood has reassured fans she will not be ditching music for a career in movies.
The Grammy winning country singer rose to fame after winning the fourth season of talent show, American Idol, in 2005. The 28-year-old has since gone on to forge a successful music career, releasing three studio albums.
Carrie has also ventured into acting, with a small role last year on US sitcom, How I Met Your Mother. She will now appear in her first feature film titled, Soul Surfer, where she stars in the true story of a youth councillor who befriends a surfer following a shark attack.
However, the star has moved to quell fears that she may be planning a move into acting on a permanent basis. She told her supporters, she will continue to write music as it’s her passion, but she doesn’t want to put a time limit on her next release.
'I see every day my fans say, ‘you haven’t said anything, what are you doing?’ I have had to say to them, don’t worry, chill out, it’s all happening. I am writing and its shaping up. There’s no hard concrete album release date. To me, albums put themselves together,' she told Extra. © Cover Media
