Oman's oil output rises 2.7% to 241m barrels
Oil production in the Sultanate rose 2.7 per cent to 241.1 million barrels by the end of September 30, 2011 compared with 234.8 million barrels in the same period last year.
Total production average of oil increased 2.7 per cent to 883.2 thousands barrels per day during the period ended September 2011, as against 860.2 thousands barrels in the same period last year. Moreover, the average price of oil rose 33.3 per cent to $ 102.06 from $ 76.58, said a bulletin.
Oil exports increased 0.1 per cent to 198.6 million barrels during the September period compared with 198.4 million barrels last year. The Sultanate’s oil export to China increased 8.9 per cent to 89.3 million barrels against 82 million barrels in 2010.
Oil exports to India increased 0.3 per cent to 28.6 million barrels in 2011 from 28.5 million barrels.
The bulletin said that the production average of gas rose by 6 per cent to reach 26 million cubic metres during the period ended September 2011, as against 24.6 million cubic metres in the same period in 2010.
The quantity of accompanied gas rose 0.1 per cent to 4.617 million cubic metres in 2011 from 4.611 million cubic metres.
Unaccompanied gas production rose 7.3 per cent to 21.4 million cubic metres compared with 20 million cubic metres in 2010.
Brent crude rose 13 cents to $ 107.01 a barrel, after falling in four consecutive sessions.
Brent has risen 13 per cent this year, and is set for a third annual gain.
