Make The Most Of Your Shape
Fashion can make or break your body shape. Knowing how to accentuate your good parts and hide your lesser parts is a talent that anyone can learn.
The following hints will help you make fashion designs to suit your body shape. Read them carefully and apply them then parade around town and note how differently people will view you!
It all starts in the mall. You need to buy the clothes that will suit your specific body shape. If you are unsure what this means the following five rules will set you on the right direction. A lot of this is common sense, so by the time you finish reading this article you'll be nodding your head and saying, “Oh, yes, of course!” Still, it always helps to rethink and revise what we already know.
Here are five general rules to remember:
1. Replace thick fabrics with thin fabrics: they are more slimming.
2. Wear the same color top and bottom: a monochromatic outfit will make you look thinner.
3. Wear clothes that fit well: anything too tight or too lose exaggerates the body shape you want to alter.
4. Forget belts if you are too thin or too short or too curvaceous: they will only accentuate the fault you want to hide.
5. Think twice about accessories: a short necklace shortens your neck, a high collar shortens your neck.
The petite body shape.
If you have a petite body shape then there are specific fashion rules to keep in mind so that you can make the most of your body shape. Always choose thin and soft fabrics that fit well. Anything with a large or overpowering print should be avoided. Vertical lines do wonders for your height.
The tall body shape
As a tall woman you are up there with the models and you probably believe you can get away with anything. But do keep in mind that while you can wear those big wide belts, try to avoid clothing that is too tight or skirts that are too long or too short.
The pear-shaped body shape
Do you have wide heavy hips? One way of defying gravity, so to speak, is to experiment with vertical lines. Fashion is a visual illusion and you can play with lines to create a vertical effect and take away attention from your hips.
The top heavy body shape
You probably want to draw attention away from the top and to the bottom, so try wearing darker colors on the top and fancier items on the bottom. Choose long jackets and tops and forget the clingy items. If you have good legs then always wear short skirts to draw people's attention down. Choose a monochromatic outfit as single colors are more flattering and thinning.
Remember, make the fashion trends work for you and not against you. Study your body shape, learn how to accentuate the part you love and play down the part you don't. Fashion is your body's best friend if you know how to use it.
