Aida Al-Ayoubi’s exclusive spiritual comeback in Ramadan
As Hisham Abbas put it, a Ramadan religious song is an entertainer’s version of "Zakat" -Islamic charitable duty-. And this Ramadan, a juicy meal of such songs will be served.
Speaking to Al-Hayat TV channel’s Youssri Al-Fakharani, Amr Diab said he’s working on two "Doaa" -supplications-. Diab has a record of 5 such pieces during past Ramadans.
Hisham Abbas will be recording 15 supplications, one broadcast on the Egyptian Radio a day, at sunset, the time of breaking the fast, to be rerun from mid-Ramadan.
Mohamed Mounir will do 30, many of which will be arranged by Germans and Turks.
Sherine will perform one, stunningly featuring segments of the Islamic "Athan" -call to prayer- which has been strictly associated with men, prior to fast-breaking time.
Mohamed Ramadan will chant "Ya Baraket Ramadan" -Blessings of Ramadan-.
Angham will present many supplications on Sawt Al-Arab radio station. One track, "Wallahi Helwa" from her latest album "Nefsi Ahebbak" will have a video version also to be broadcast in Ramadan.
Hakim is finished with recording "Ya Saymeen" (You Fasters).
Ali Al-Haggar has a video for a new single, "Ya Rabb" (Oh Lord).
The iconic young female lute playing singer/songwriter of early 1990s, Aida Al-Ayoubi, in retirement for long, will make a surprise comeback through an entirely religion-themed 3-track album, "Tawasul wa Ragaa’ bi Jah Sidna Ennabi" (Communion and Hope in the High Rank of the Prophet Our Master), containing "Al-Borda" (The Prophet’s Cloak), "Madad" (Divine Provision), and the title track.
