Smashing Pumpkins, 100% free!

Billy Corgan, who has been at war with Virgin since 2000, does not seem to be ready to sign to a new label. At least, that looks to be the case from his latest announcement: Smashing Pumpkins are recording an album comprising 44 new tracks, which will be released gradually and will be completely free! Each track on "Teargarden by Kaleidyscope" will be made available individually, downloadable from the Internet as of late October 2009, costing not a penny. The songs will also be released as 11 EPs in a collector's box set.

Billy Corgan says that "Teargarden by Kaleidyscope" was conceived as a melodic, psychedelic saga inspired by the 22 major arcanes of Tarot, which correspond to the stages of the Fool's journey through life.
