Madonna and Guy assets split

Madonna

Madonna has agreed to hand over her £12million country mansion to her husband Guy Ritchie in a clear sign, the pair are planning separate futures.

They appear to be deciding on who gets what, in spite of Madonna taking the unusual step of instructing her American publicist to deny rumors of a marriage rift last week.

Madonna, 49, bought the 1,200-acre estate in Wiltshire for £8million in 2001 and wanted to sell it earlier this year.

‘It looks as though they are dividing up their assets,’ a friend revealed last night.
‘Madonna bought the property out of her own pocket seven years ago because Guy didn’t have the cash.

'But now he has paid her back and the deal is that if they separate he gets the house. He loves the property and it’s very much his retreat.

‘He spends the weekends there, often with the kids while Madonna stays up in town.

'They never had a pre-nup in place before they married and so there have inevitably been discussions about what would happen to their estate should they split.

'Madonna has agreed that Guy can have the country house as part of a settlement. She used to love it in the countryside, but she’s lost interest.

'It’s very much Guy’s solace and where he goes to shoot and relax with friends.’

Film director Guy, 39, flew to New York last week as rumors that the couple are to split gathered momentum and Madonna was seen without her wedding ring.

A Madonna spokesman insisted: ‘There are no plans for divorce.’
