Punisher - War Zone : a quality comic-book adaptation

Ex-FBI agent turned vigilante Frank Castle (R. Stevenson), alias the Punisher, attacks mafia godfather Billy Russoti (D. West), leaving the criminal for dead after mercilessly disfiguring him. The Mafioso survives, taking on the new name of Jigsaw, and goes full out to wreak vengeance. Assisting him is a gang of formidable, blood-thirsty criminals.

With a well-crafted script and raw realism, "Punisher - War Zone" is the best movie adaptation yet of the Marvel comic book character's adventures. The dark superhero's personality is preserved by director Lexi Alexander, who is not afraid to show the vigilante's ultra-violent side. This approach has resulted in a pretty good film, although it is not of course up to the mark of the genre's masterpiece, "The Dark Knight ". The DVD is packed with bonus features, including no less than seven documentaries!
