Transformers

Sam Witwicky (Shia LaBeouf) is an average teenager, working hard in doing well at school and getting good grades so that his dad would get him a car.

When he goes to the used cars dealer, a beat up Chevy Camaro magically appears, practically asking Sam to buy it.

Although in bad shape, Sam insists on buying it, and his father agrees.

But it’s not soon before Sam realizes that his car is not normal, and that it – quite unbelievably – acts alive. Not only that, but there seems to be many suspicious vehicles with mysterious drivers, acting weird.

It’s not long before Sam discovers that the Camaro is actually an Autobot, a race of robotic aliens, trying to protect the earth from the Decepticons, another race of robotic aliens trying to take over the planet to destroy it.

Caught in the middle of a battle between good and evil, humans must fight back to protect the Earth and their lives.

I must say, I had no expectations when I went to watch this one, which means that I was very pleasantly surprised. Although the storyline is not exactly Shakespeare, the dialogue is simple yet witty and characters are funny.

But the big hat goes off to the CGI work, the bots are simply breathtaking; an incredibly creative variety, very realistic and fluid movements, the action sequences are simply awesome, and the sound effects are outstanding.

The movie includes star actors John Voight, Josh Duhamel, Tyrese Gibson, John Turturro and Bernie Mac.

The ending was very clearly opening the way for more installments to follow, and they have gained one fan who will definitely wait for the coming sequel.
