Young actress Zeina’s phone did not stop ringing Monday and Tuesday all day long. Zeina received congrats messages and calls from friends and co-workers. According to a Heliopolis Appeal Court (HAC) ruling by Chancellor Hazim Wagih Zeina was confirmed not guilty.
Tamer and Saad
Tamer Hosny and Mohamed Saad, both actors, were first to congratulate Zeina. Hosny already co-stars with Zeina in Hema. Zeina was also recommended by Saad for his latest Bushkash as a replace for Lebanese actress Nour.
Nour had announced withdrawal from Bushkash after Saad and Amr Arafa, director, who quit himself, had an argument. Ahmed Youssry was recommended as a replacement. Work resumed away from reporters in an attempt to catch up on release date next July.
Bad naming, beating
Zeina starred as first celebrity to go to court in 2008. Last January, Chancellor Adel Abdl Bary, of Heliopolis Initial Court (HIC), had sentenced and bailed Zeina two months and EGP 1,000 respectively on grounds of bad naming and beating a traffic officer and a soldier. Incident started when Zeina had parked second row, which blocked traffic. Officer Mohamed Khalaf talked to her while a soldier was carrying clutchers ready. As a response, Zeina bad-named both, beat the solider and broke clutchers free, according to police register.
Anxiety, panic
However, Zeina appealed. According to appeal court, reported car turned out Zeina’s sister’s and police register included Zeina’s sister’s name, not Zeina’s, who was cross-examined. Zeina feared she could be detained but was relieved to hear a not guilty, when her sister confirmed she was the perpetrator.
