Laila Ghofran slams the tabloids
Laila Ghofran waged another attack on what she called ‘yellow journalism’, accusing it of privacy infringement and defamation.
The row developed between the Moroccan singer and tabloids over photo stories depicting her as a careless mother of the 2008 murdered 23-years-old Heba Al-Aqqad.
Ghofran said she was pitilessly overwhelmed with unfounded claims about her allegedly excessive lifestyle.
There was even a rumor that she paid a visit to her daughter’s condemned murderer in his confinement, which Ghofran described as a pointless lie.
In exclusive statements, Ghofran said the press is salacious and indifferent to people’s suffering, adding that she’s been trying hard to overcome the ordeal, but journalists wouldn’t leave her alone.
Ghofran defended her marked concern with her dress and appearance, citing the Arabic adage: “grief is in the heart”, and calling for others to stop the contest of emotions.
