The New-Gen Cayenne Is Here!
Porsche has launched its second generation Cayenne SUV in Abu Dhabi.
Introduced in 2003, Porsche’s first time venture into the SUV segment created waves in the automobile world and proved a runaway success for the German sports car manufacturer.
For the 2007MY, Porsche has equipped the Cayenne with new cutting-edge technology and powerful new engines.
The SUV will be available in the usual three variants: Cayenne, Cayenne S and the Cayenne Turbo and will feature the more powerful Direct Fuel Injection (DFI) engines as well as advanced technologies such as Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control (PDCC) stabilizer, advanced trailer stabilization system, roll-over sensor and pre-loading of the brake system.
Speaking at the launch, Deesch Papke, Managing Director of Porsche Middle East and Africa, said, “All of Porsche’s engineering talent has been employed in the development of this car to ensure it successfully captures the essence of two contradictory personalities shared in a single package.
Reception of this model will undoubtedly be phenomenal, a fact that will reflect clearly in our regional and world wide sales figures in the coming years.”
For 2007MY, the Cayenne has a 40bhp power increase and is now driven by a 290bhp 3.6-litre V6 as against the 3.2-litre in its earlier outing. The middle-order Cayenne S as well as the most powerful of the three – the Cayenne Turbo, is available with a 4.8-litre naturally aspirated V8 making 385bhp and 500bhp respectively.
The Cayenne has a starting price of AED187,000.
