Harley-Davidson Appoints New UK Managing Director
Paul Stroud to Lead Legendary Motorcycle Manufacturer
Paul Stroud has been appointed as the new managing director for Harley-Davidson and Buell UK, the Oxford-based subsidiary of the world-famous Motor Company. Bringing over 15 years of motor industry experience to the role, Paul will continue to build on the huge success of the iconic Milwaukee marque in the British and Irish markets.
Formerly the European director of sales and marketing at MG Rover, Paul takes over from Mike Kennedy who has returned to the US to take up a new role with Harley-Davidson Motor Company. Paul is now looking forward to building on seven consecutive years of record sales of Harley-Davidson, and to expanding Buell still further in the UK and Ireland.
Paul, 36, said; “The UK market is an ultra-competitive one for motorcycles, but Harley-Davidson is much more than just a motorcycle. The brand has a tremendous following, and I am keen to get to know our customers and dealers. With the new adventure-sport Ulysses XB12X just launching, Buell now has a technically advanced range with much wider appeal, so I look forward to seeing the Buell brand really power on in 2006.
“Working closely with our dealer network, I want to bring the Harley-Davidson experience to an even wider audience. We have a unique brand that encapsulates people’s dreams and aspirations, and for a lot less money than some may think. The diversity of the range of Harley-Davidson and Buell motorcycles and products in 2006 means that it’s easy to join the family – even if like me, you’re not yet a motorcyclist!”
Paul is married and enjoys fine wines and good cuisine, balancing that with hill-walking, skiing and rugby. “I reckon that riding is also about to become a big part of my life, and I intend to have my license before Christmas,” he added.
Harley-Davidson offers a full range of products and services, from learning to ride with its authorized training academy, Rider’s Edge, to competitive insurance and finance on its range of motorcycles. The Harley-Davidson range starts with the Sportster XL883 at £4,995 on the road. The joy of motorcycling on the best roads in Europe can be enjoyed with the official Harley Owners Group (H.O.G.) touring rides and events.
